Emma Chablo
Member of the Management Team
Chablo is a highly experienced marketing professional with the proven ability to deliver global strategy to high tech software solutions, telecomms and marketing services sectors globally. With more than 20 years experience in senior marketing positions and as an independent consultant, she has successfully delivered marketing at the highest levels. She also has extensive experience working with large, medium and smaller tech sector businesses and has been involved in developing marketing strategy though the full range of growth stages including re-brand, MBO, VC, IPO and acquisition, disposal and trade sale.
Chablo joined the Fund as a partner in 2010 and is also Managing Director of CMO Centre, offering part-time Marketing Directors into small and mid sized technology businesses. Prior to the Fund and CMO Centre she spent a brief spell at Chordiant (acquired by Pegasystems) and at Corizon (a VC funded company) where she was responsible for delivering complete marketing strategy and tactics for an emerging technology across UK, Europe and more recently a launch into the US market. She was responsible for brand creation, PR, Website, Internet (SEO and PPC), Social Networking content and delivery, collateral, lead generation, events, partner and analyst relations. Corizon was acquired by Versata Enterprises Inc in 2010.
Prior to Corizon, Chablo delivered Interim marketing management and project based consultancy services to a range of growth businesses predominantly but not exclusively tech sector successfully for 3 years including Aprimo Inc (Enterprise Marketing Solutions), smartFOCUS plc (AIM SFT), Artesian Solutions, Urbis and Netstationers.
From 1998 to 2006 she was Global Marketing Director at smartFOCUS plc responsible for Marketing strategy and delivery through 7+ years of company evolution. The company grew from 12 people, an operating division of EHS Brann through management buyout, VC raise, IPO and acquisitions to an AIM listed company now with over 140 employees and achieved revenue growth of over 500% during her time. Before smartFOCUS she held a number of career development roles in software and telecoms companies including Excel Communications (acquired by Nortel in 1999), GPT Video Systems and started her career in 1989 in what was ICL Network Systems and is now Fujitsu. Chablo holds a BA (Hons) Business Studies (Marketing Speciality) from Nottingham Trent University and a CIM Marketing Diploma.
