Investment and Review Process
The Highgate Tech Fund team has put into place an Investment and Review process meant to encourage Entrepreneurs to contact us and to make the investment process be able to respond quickly and efficiently to diverse situations and your individual needs. The following is intended to be a brief guide to our investment process.
Information we require for a start: Executive summary / PowerPoint presentation - a 1-2 pager that tells your story.
Once we make contact with you, here's our general process:-
Timeline
1–2 days – initial review
We generally would like to meet you face to face to hear your story. At that time the following types of information should generally be available:
1) More detail presentation/PowerPoint on who you are and what you are doing.
2) Any financial data that you have... this should include historical financials and your financial plan moving forward. We would like to see 12-24 months if available.
3 - 10 days – detailed review
During this time frame you can expect additional meetings with us and requests for additional materials that we require. We will carefully consider the information you send to us. We will quickly come to a decision as to whether or not an opportunity is of interest, and we will let you know our status as we move forward.
These requests will normally include sales pipeline, marketing information, customers etc.
2 weeks – Decision on to move forward or not
If we believe there is a good fit between our organizations, we will move quickly. At this time point we will finalise our valuation and hopefully reach agreement with you on valuation and structure to move forward, subject of course to detailed Due Diligence.
2 - 4 weeks - Due diligence and contract completion
Due diligence is a major part of our process. While we have not allocated significant time for this part of the process, it will be intense. We will have our team on site with you and your team for a significant amount of time during this period.
While we are completing this facet of the transaction, our respective legal teams will be preparing the required documentation. We will provide you early in this process with the details on the documents required.
Confidentiality Policy
Maintaining the confidentiality of our clients’ plans, know-how, projects and relationships is essential to the foundation of our firm. We are contacted each day with new investment opportunities. It is key to the success of our business that each client is treated with integrity. We do not sign any form of non-disclosure agreement or letter of confidentiality until we have our first meeting with you. At that point we will execute a non-disclosure agreement.
We always work with reference to this Policy Statement:
We will not divulge confidential information given to us as part of an investment enquiry to anyone outside Highgate Tech Fund or its advisors without the permission of the person who sent it to us. If we receive an opportunity about a project or business which is in conflict or competition with one of our clients or investees, or a business with which we are in more advanced discussions, we will inform the provider as soon as possible after identifying the possible conflict.
Should you have any doubts about a potential conflict, please contact us.
